Are Your Tired From Search Engines Crawling Your Site? – Stop Them With Semalt!
Search engines change their algorithms almost every day and these changes are not always good for webmasters and bloggers. There is always a chance that your website will be banned because of updated search engine policies. On top of that, their geo-specific search results and personalization are likely to be affected. It's good to block several websites from the Google, Bing, and Yahoo search results so that your web pages show up easily. Jason Adler, the Customer Success Manager of Semalt, says that thankfully, there are some ways to block certain websites from the search results. Some of them have been discussed below.
1. Personal Website Blocklist:
Creating personal website blocklists in your Google Chrome is easy as ABC. For this, you should install the Google extension; once it is installed, you will see the option to block the sites or URLs that annoy you most often and push your site behind in the Google search results. Once you have clicked on the Block option, those websites will immediately disappear from the Google search results. You should remember that these sites do appear in the search results of Yahoo and Bing, which means you cannot block them from other search engines using this technique.
2. Block the current host from the search engines such as Google.com:
It's easy to block the current host from Google.com. If you have your Google Chrome's Settings section open, you can block the suspicious or adult websites by clicking on the BlockIt button. And if you click on the Show option, the same websites will reappear in your Google search results.
If you want to see the lists of sites you recently blocked, you just need to click on the Blocklist icon in the toolbar. This usually appears in the orange color and has a hand icon.
3. Webspam Report plugin:
Besides the above two methods, Webspam Report plugin is also good to go with. This lets you report the suspicious and adult websites as spam. In fact, it is the easiest and best option as you can report as many websites and blogs at a time as possible. If the spam reports are sent to Google, the search engine will eventually penalize and block a site from its results.
With this extension, you can block all unwanted and suspicious results from the Google search engine. Unfortunately, this plugin does not work well with Safari and other web browsers. It means you can use it only when you surf the websites through Google Chrome and has this browser as the primary option.
4. For Firefox Users:
If you are a Firefox user, it's possible to install similar add-ons that will block all unwanted sites from the search results. For instance, if you have a WordPress site, you can check a plugin that helps block unwanted sites from the Firefox search results. Once fully installed, you can activate the plugin and block or eliminate the sites and blogs you don't want to show up in your Google search results.
All these methods are easy to follow and effective for all types of websites, blogs, and social media pages.
